SOM Costume Information For Chorus Members

Hi everyone.  In case you didn't get the handout on Saturday, here's the costume information for Chorus members.


Notice to All SOM Chorus Members Regarding Costumes


The costume committee wants to provide some guidance on costumes.   Below you will find listed the items you will need for your different roles in the show.
Please note we do not want you to spend a lot of money to find these items.  We are hoping many of you have these things in your closet.
The costume committee will be glad to assist you in finding any of these items as well.  Savers or Goodwill or a local thift store are good options for shopping.




Women's Chorus
You will need:
Nuns, Postulants, Novices
Black shoes, black tights (not nylons); rosaries (if you have one).  Costumes will provide the nun habits.
Party Chorus
Evening dress appropriate to 1930's - strapless ok; (no halters); white gloves, dress shoes, tiaras or sparkly headbands, if desired
Picnickers Chorus
30's style dress or skirt & blouse combo; (think June Cleaver); purse, hat, gloves, pearls
Refugee Women
Dark skirts, dark tops, blouses or sweaters, shawl or cape if you have one


Men's Chorus
You will need:
Party Chorus
Black socks & shoes, Black suit; white dress shirt, bow tie or ascot tie*; white gloves if you have them
Picnickers Chorus
Button shirt in earth tones or light colors - long or short sleeve ok; khaki pants or shorts; suspenders are an option. 

If you have an old pair of pants - we can cut them off for knickers.  Knee socks (solid colors) if you are wearing shorts/knickers.
Refugees
Dark pants, shirts, shoes


Kids Chorus
no tennies, no jeans
Girls
Black flat shoes; ballet slippers or other flats (available at Target, Payless)

Dresses (30's style) could include jumper w/blouse, full skirts,

White knee highs or tights (not nylons)


Boys
Knickers - we can make these for you out of old pair of pants or thrift store pants; cotton dress shorts or khaki pants will also work

Light colored, button dress shirt - short or long sleeve - no patterns; suspenders if you have them

Need black shoes or black jazz shoes (available at Payless)




Notes:

*We will gladly provide ascot ties if you need them
Website has examples of 30's style clothing
Please note all costumes need to be approved by the costume committee.  We will schedule dates for you to bring items in for approval, but in general, please plan on having your items to review by Saturday, Jan 15
